Sour Dough progress and new fabric purchased...

I am still cutting my scrap fabric and trying to divide them into darks and lights. This is difficult for me as many of my fabrics are bright colors...here is a sample square that I am playing with.
The squares are 1 1/2" & 1 1/2" x 2 1/2" & 4 1/"

You can see I am using the accent color of black with pink dots.
This is Love Me Love ME Not by Ro Gregg for Northcott #2390.
The top right square is the same but #2382.
The bottom left square is Gerber  by Donna Dewberry for Free Spirit #DD21.
Not too sure the idea of dark & light fabric is showing up, but I like it anyway!!
I am thinking of using this sample and complete the quilt with some pink borders...

Here are a few of my newest fabrics...
Little lady bugs... Daisy Bugs, Michael Miller

Yellow windowpane and cherries...Oh-Cherry-Oh, Me & My Sister Design by Moda

Here is a vintage tablecloth that I bought at a yard sale for $3. It has a few small holes but I can applique over those...

I will make a quilt with this as the top and probably add a border or two...perhaps using the Oh-Cherry-Oh fabric in the border or binding...
I was thrilled to find this fabric as I have had the tablecloth for about a year.

I will keep you posted!!

  3. I love using the black and white fabrics to give the eye a place to rest when the fabrics are bright. I tend to use a lot of the bright fabrics too. Your design is great and it will look fabulous when done.

I can't wait to see the completed tablecloth. The Oh, Cherry, Oh fabric is terrific.
