Well we need rain here in eastern North Carolina and I have not watered as I should because the water bill is too high...But many of my plants in our yard and garden are coming along...
"If the day and night are such that you greet then with joy and life
emits a fragrance like flowers and sweet scented herbs that is your success.
All nature is your congratulations."
Henry David Thoreau
We need rain south Texas too. When we lived in Raleigh about 3 years ago, we were in the middle of a drought there too. (I sometimes wonder if I am a jinx!)
ReplyDeleteI miss having gardenias. I had them all around my house in a previous house. I also miss hydrangeas, which I also had in profusion. I am having to learn all over again how to garden with alkaline soil after having acid soil for 20 years. I also have a problem with my flowers withering in the hot sun by the middle of summer. (It's a tradeoff. I do enjoy having hibiscus and palm trees and other more tropical plants that I couldn't have before.) Your flowers are beautiful!
Ah, homegrown tomatoes! Well worth watering them!

We are about 15 miles outside of Raleigh and very, very dry - Been trying to keep the landscape bushes and pots watered, but the lawn is sinking fast - approximately 4 acres in grass so only God can water it all. My gardenias evidently like the drought as they are blooming profusely. Judy C sends her best - wish I could send rain
ReplyDeleteThat Blue Willow just takes my breath! I love it and have a lot of it that I've collected over the years. It was my first set of dishes when I married in 1964. :) My husband and I are on a mission trip in south Louisiana and it's horribly dry here. Thankfully, we've had rain two afternoons in a row - they need it badly. blessings, marlene

ReplyDeleteNo I have never heard of the " sour dough' quilt pattern, but will be watching to see how it turns out. Have a wonderful weekend
