Upcycled...Book to Quilt

At our guild, Neuse Quilters, we have a great group of ladies who love to share their hand me down fabrics. One day recently, I had been busy and noticed, towards the end of our meeting ,that there was some fabric on a I began to look through it. At first I just thought, "I do not need any more left overs" and then I thought again....

There was a scrappy piece of brightly colored fabric with animals.... letters... an alphabet?????

Well....maybe I could take just this one...????

It turns out it is not just a piece of fabric

but a fabric book

WOW.....I see a quilt....not a book at all.....

So here it goes.

All quilted...

and I made a little pillow with the extra block/page.

All ready for the Ronald McDonald House!!

My good friend's daddy's VA Home quilt
all finished.

We are praying he will like his nice new home
and I want him to feel comfortable there
and that his quilt helps with the transition...

Blessings all,

  1. That turned out very nice! How kind you are to do that. Nancy

  2. How stinkin cute is that childs quilt!!! Don't you just love giving quilts away? I know your friends father will love his.

  3. Love what you did with the fabric book and what a great place it is going to, it's sure to bring cheer and comfort to a little one. Like your VA quilt too. Bless his heart!! And yours!

  4. The quilt turned out darling! A child will be very happy to have it. =)

  5. That makes a perfect quilt for a child - so bright and cheery.

  6. You are so creative and I can't believe how much you get done! The child's quilt is adorable and your father's friend will feel 'loved'. Thanks for sharing with us Kathy.
