I didn't know about the highest tension, but I knew about the longest stitch. I learned to use longest stitch (called basting stitch) and then grab the end and pull, and that would pucker it, but I like your way better!
No! But I am glad I know now!!
I'm with Michelle too, only one year when I was making ruffled skirts for bedspreads, I broke down and bought a ruffler attachment. Now I've got a different machine that the ruffler attachment doesn't go with, so thank you for this tip and terrific instructions!

I did and have used it, but find that it can break sometimes. I prefer to zig zag over dental floss.blessings, jill
