This is what I saw as we were driving out of the driveway for lunch...
"stop the car', I said to Cliff!!
I knew from my childhood that it was a robin's egg
that had fallen out of a nest
during a windy day.
I had to place it in an old bird's nest that I keep in the garden house
along with my McCoy Pottery collection...
but I knew it needed to be close to my heart for a few days for me to look
at and love.
so for now, it stays in my kitchen window
with the sea shells and mini sea turtle!!
Blessings
my readers!!

I think they are the prettiest eggs around. How special to have it whole after a fall from the nest.

Love the McCoy pottery!! My prize possession: a yellow turtle planter from my mom and sister last year for my birthday got broken. I was so sad. Love the blue egg.

ReplyDeleteYou do have that special touch for putting things together that make one smile.......
I would have done the same thing. It's so sad to see eggs on the ground. =(
ReplyDeleteWhat a treasure! Your robin's egg is simply beautiful. I'd keep it close too.
ReplyDeleteWill it survive and hatch - oh I do hope so!! FIngers crossed!
ReplyDeleteHi Kathyrn, Thanks for visiting my blog. Is that lemon thyme I see in your planter? I love the smell of it. Is that flower pincushion? I have one planted and just bought another today. Looks like you are quite a quilter! Come see me again! Nancy at Cozy Thyme Cottage
