Ruth...

You know I have always really liked reading the book of Ruth. It is short and to the point. I wonder what I would have done if I had been in her shoes.  I have to work on pride and self sufficiency and Ruth seems so mild mannered and trusting.
My margin notes read as follows...

should they have left 1:6
Ruth must have recognized God in Naomi 1:15
did she (Naomi) look different? worse, older...out of God's protection 1:20 (bitter)
Boaz says to Ruth...listen, stay, watch, follow, drink 2:8
"Kathy"  beside "My daughter" 2:8
remind the Lord who I am, ask Him to spread the corner of His garment over me, since He is my kinsman- redeemer 3:9
marked through Ruth and wrote "Kathy" in 3:9
wrote Jesus beside kinsman-redeemer 3:12
circled Rachel and Leah 4:11
circled Tamar 4:12
Ruth is only part of the bigger plan 4:12
circled "seven" sons 4:15

selflessness = rest

What is one of your favorite books in the Bible?
What notes did you take?
How does it inspire you to change?

Blessings as you read your Bible, my friends!!

  2. I love the book of Psalms myself. My Bible is full of notes and is falling apart, I like to remember that is precisely why my life isn't! Great post today, Kathryn!

  3. I like Ruth very much. I have mostly been Bible reading on my Kindle lately but I am realizing that even though it is convenient, I miss the note taking part.

  4. I love the book of Ruth also. What you wrote makes me want to read the story again. Enjoyed your post. One of my all time favorite books is Philippians.
