Wonderful Spring!!!

This is what I saw as we were driving out of the driveway for lunch...
"stop the car', I said to Cliff!!

I knew from my childhood that it was a robin's egg
that had fallen out of a nest
during a windy day.

I had to place it in an old bird's nest that I keep in the garden house
along with my McCoy Pottery collection...

but I knew it needed to be close to my heart for a few days for me to look
at and love.

so for now, it stays in my kitchen window
with the sea shells and mini sea turtle!!

Blessings

We are enjoying a really nice, slow rain here in eastern North Carolina today. Sunday, a wonderful day to be still and thank the Lord for all of
His blessings during the week...

Rolling quilts and making memories...

Been working on quilts with new fabric and adding some vintage too...
something about adding memories to my quilting.

The stripe square here is from fabric my mama used to cover twin head boards for a guest room. The twin beds were used by my sister and me when we shared a bedroom when I was little. I actually do not remember sharing, but my sister does.

Scrappy heart applique...

The backing is from a woven bedspread we used on our bed...
makes the quilt feel all "warm and fuzzy" !

Here is a blue version where I am adding a blue block of  pin point oxford from
my husband's old shirts...

I will add a sail boat scrappy applique...

and back with the woven spread too...

and then roll and add to the top of my pile...may sell these two!!

Blessings
for a good week!!

Pressed down and running over...

You may be familiar with the scripture in

Luke 6:38...
Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down,
shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap...
Well, that is just what happened to me!!!

Debby, over at Nanny's Place
won the fat quarters in my 100th post give away and made this adorable

notepad & pen holder

and sent one to me!!!!!!!!

that is not all, either....

she cut out this lovely Kate Spain "Flurry" fabric and sent it as well

and the pattern!!!!!!!!!

How generous
and what a thank you I have never received!!!

Quilters are the best.
Thanks Debby.

Blessings to all my readers,

Easter at the Duke's...

We began celebrating our Easter season with Palm Sunday where the little children enter the church waving palms...I always enjoy the special music too...and we are given palm crosses to pin on our clothes.

Last night our church had a Maundy Thursday service. We had communion followed by "Stripping of the Altar" (removing all ornaments, linens, and paraments). This is an ancient custom that symbolizes the humiliation of Jesus at the hands of the soldiers and His abandonment by His disciples. We left the service in darkness and silence.
Many Free Will Baptist churches celebrate with a "foot washing" service. Both my maternal and paternal grandmothers were FWB and I remember them talking about it as a child.

Sunday will be Easter and that is the best day of all because that is when we celebrate Jesus' Resurrection!!

I was baptised at the age of 12 but I did not really come to know the Lord until I was 16. Ever since, I have come to have more understanding of what Jesus went through and suffered just for me...and you too~~~

I hope you know Jesus too. But if you do not, all you have to do is to ask Him to come into your heart and tell Him that you believe He is Lord and your Savior and to forgive you of your sins....
and He will!!

Bless you my readers!
